2009 challenged Rickey in both running and skiing. He competed in the Elk

Mountain Grand Traverse, a randonee race that follows the old Postal route in

the Elk Mountains between Crested Butte and Aspen and he also won Mt.

Washington race in Aspen, Colorado. He is one of only two Americans to run the

course in under an hour. He also placed fourth at the Sierre-Zinal in Switzerland

and fourth over-all in the Mountain Running Grand Prix. This fourth place finish

was the highest American finish in a decade. In 2010 Rickey plans to tighten his

sexy XT S-Labs to break records. His “Grand Challenge” aims to break the

records for both the Grand Canyon and the Grand Teton. He also plans on

attending the Pikes Peak Marathon for his first attempt at this famous race.
