ROB CHAMBERS

2nd Year as a Flight Crew member. Co-founder of the Halifax Trail Runners Club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The club is in its' 7th season and has expanded greatly from it’s' beginnings.

This year we have over 50 people show up for weekly runs, and countless more for our new HTR events and as members on our FaceBook page. HTR volunteers and members organize various trail races during the season, most notably the "Martcok Trails Nuthin' Runner than a Dumber" and the "Basket Run- Not Since Moses Youth Run".

Rob has written articles for Canadian Running Magazine and has reviewed gear for Trail Runner Magazine. He is also a avid outdoor photographer.

Rob teaches Grade Primary to Grade 6 Phys. Ed in Halifax and is active in the Youth Running scene in Halifax by creating opportunities to connect his passion for running with experiences for his students.

For the past 8 years, Rob has brought his school children to the Bluenose Marathon Youth Run and this year is building an all ages running team to bring to the Youth Running Series events in Nova Scotia.

Along with running Marathons, Rob enjoys road cycling, camping and surfing. He has completed a few off-road duathlons and has just started competing in triathlons.

But his true passion is running the trails behind his house with his dogs or run-commuting to work/school with his daughter in the chariot stroller.

Rob is a husband, father and teacher and finds ways to intertwine those busy parts of his life with his running. He and his daughter can be seen most mornings running into the city with the stroller and Wednesday nights he can be found at the trail head of the scheduled HTR runs helping to show others the joys of running on trails.
