*ryanbarrett defines "Conceptual Running" as running with purpose, pursuing challenges that have significance associated with the physical, psychological or geographical explorations of yourself and surroundings. He is less interested in organized races, and is more intrigued with pushing the boundaries of running, and the context in which we do it. He continues to explore the concept of running as an art medium.
WHY DO YOU PRACTICE TRAIL RUNNING?
I Trail Run because it challenges me, inspires me, feeds my soul, and winds my mental clock, and has become integral to my identity as a balanced human being.
WHEN NOT RUNNING:
I am mostly making art, sometimes running is the art.
BEST MEMORY?
When I realized that running was now my self-prescribed medication.
FAVORITE PLACE TO RUN:
Montana/Newfoundland/The Nevada Desert/Don Valley Trail, Toronto
ADVICE TO OTHER TRAIL RUNNERS:
Run your own races & challenge your limits.
